The Reformation End-Of-Year 2018 Sale You Don't Want to Miss!

My absolute favorite sustainable fashion brand, Reformation, is having its end-of-the-year sale - and items are going fast. Fellow Reformation lovers know that this brand rarely has sales. I usually only see these sales happen twice a year - at the end of Summer and at the end of the year. This year, select items are marked up to 50% off! Read on to see my tips on shopping this sale and check out my favorite discounted items from this highly anticipated sale!

Haven’t heard of Reformation? Be sure to first read up on my brand spotlight on the brand (which includes info on design, pricing, and fit) - you’ll quickly see why it is my go-to destination for the most stylish, sustainably made clothing pieces.

TIPS FOR SHOPPING THE SALE

Pro Tip No. 1 - Be aware of Reformation’s sizing

Keep in mind that all sale items are FINAL SALE. Once you make a purchase, you can’t exchange the items for a different color/size and you won’t be able to return them for a refund. You’ll want to look at each item’s sizing info to ensure best fit. Reformation has size ranges for various body types including for petites and plus size gals, and I find that the clothing generally runs on the smaller side. If you live in California, Florida, Massachusetts, New York, Texas, or Washington D.C., there may be a brick-and-mortar store near you! Check out their locations page to see if you can go to one of their physical stores and directly try on the clothing.

Pro Tip No. 2 - Ask yourself, “Will I wear this piece at least 30 times?”

Since the sale items are listed as no exchange/final sale, I make sure that I absolutely LOVE each item and avoid super trendy pieces. It helps if you already know your personal style. An easy way to filter out the trendy pieces is by asking yourself, “Will I wear this piece at least 30 times?” This forces me to imagine outfits with the piece in advance to see if it’d become a staple in my closet vs. a one-and-done item. It also helps me to justify the price I pay, since wearing the item as much as 30 times would allow me to get the most bang for my buck. I talk more about this on my #30Wears Challenge page, if you’re interested in learning more about this method!

Pro Tip No. 3 - Think twice before you buy.

These are the steps I take before hitting the “purchase” button:

  1. I use the shopping filters at the top of the page to check only my sizes and price limit.

  2. As I comb through the sale, I read product descriptions and check the sizing info. Then I add any items I love to my cart.

  3. I wait a day or two to think about how I’d wear each piece and if I’d wear it enough to justify the purchase.

  4. I remove any pieces from my cart that I don’t absolutely LOVE and/or pieces that don’t pass my filter I talked about in pro tip no. 2.

As a general rule of thumb for myself, I do like to wait at least a week before making any fashion purchase. But given that Reformation’s sale pieces sell out very, very quickly, and given that their sales only happen twice a year, I make an effort to really think through the items and don’t wait too long before making the purchase. Otherwise, you run the risk of the item selling out of your size!
