Style Investment Pieces | Leather Moto Jacket & Over-The-Knee Boots

Out of all the different types of clothing pieces and shoes, I tend to invest the most in quality outerwear and boots. A high quality jacket or pair of boots can last you for years, or even over a decade (as this pair of cognac leather boots have proven to me!). Today I'm sharing a couple of these investment style pieces - a leather moto jacket from Zara and a pair of lush suede over-the-knee boots from Sam Edelman.

A black leather jacket is a style piece you don't want to skimp out on. I've purchased a couple other faux-leather jackets before, all of which I had to throw out because the material started to break down with more wear over the years. Now it's not to say that there aren't nice faux leather style pieces out there. But high quality leather was one of the key factors that stood out to me when deciding to make this investment style purchase. The day I saw this moto leather jacket from Zara, I also had found a somewhat similar, less expensive one but made out of faux leather. From my past lessons learned, I opted for the higher quality, more expensive leather jacket, and haven't regretted my decision at all! I love all the zipper and moto detailing on it, and even the subtle fold of the lapel. This jacket instantly adds edginess to all my outfits!

I styled the rest of this outfit with a star print dress, a sparkly statement necklace, a studded grey clutch, a black bandana worn as a wrap bracelet, and a pair of suede OTK boots!

A nice pair of high quality boots is another style piece you may want to consider investing in. This fall season I decided to up my over-the-knee boots game with a pair of Sam Edelman 'Kent' boots. High quality doesn't necessarily mean you need to pay thousands of hard-earned dollars for it. I love these Stuart Weitzman Highland suede OTK boots, but at $798 they are too expensive for me to justify purchasing them. The Sam Edelman boots are made out of high quality soft suede material, has a slimming fit with a slight stretch, and is at just the right price point for me! I love wearing them with dresses and flared skirts, especially during the fall and winter seasons when it's too cold for exposed legs.
